Lauenen-Hofstetten-Ried

Today’s Leistgebiet of Lauenen-Hofstetten-Ried corresponds to the former municipal area of «Goldiwil Nid dem Wald», and is home to around 3,500 residents.

As a truly residential area, the Martimatte housing complex and the partially realised complex in the Blüemlimatte area, together with numerous detached houses, are the elements that characterise the townscape. A generation change is currently taking place in the older detached houses – the district is particularly popular for young couples with children.

In addition to its quality of living, the district can also also offer some other attractions: The Aarequai, the Brahmsquai, the  Kunstmuseum (Art Museum) Thun in the Thunerhof and the Jakobshübeli are popular destinations.
