The “Trampelwurm” is a wilful, light-hearted, playful vehicle, which is unique of its kind in Europe – a curiosity with a bicycle number! The environmentally friendly vehicle that has 10 articulations and is10 metres long is propelled along by the pure muscle power of its (maximum) 10 passengers, each and everyone in his own car with a roof, thus partially protected against the elements. Using various power transmission techniques it can be pedalled, rowed, cranked and trodden. Two of these vehicles are in operation in the City of Thun, through the auspices of the City Mobility Association. You can rent them, but only with a driver’s licence. During the unhurried and stimulating cruise around the Old City, Bälliz and along the Aare, you will gain a singular impression of the sights of Thun.
