Thun is always worth a visit. You will soon realise this as you stroll through the wonderful, atmospheric old town. Thun Tourist Office and its partners offer guests and locals informative and varied city tours which take you to hidden places and give you an insight into the art, history and culture of this Zähringer city.

Guided Tour of the Town (G/F/E/I/D)
A guided tour through the old part of the town and up the
Schlossberg (Castle Hill). Duration: 1 1⁄2 hours. Cost: CHF 120.– 1

A guided tour through the Historical Museum situated
in Thun Castle. Duration: 1 hour. Cost: CHF 100.–
(not including the admission fee of CHF 5.– per person) 1

A guided tour through the old part of the town and

Sightseeing Tour with the «Trampelwurm»
A tour on a merrily playful, curious, eco-friendly vehicle, driven
purely by muscle power.
Various lengths of the tour are possible,
for groups
Duration: as of 20 minutes up to 1 hour.

Stroll through Thun’s old part of town *
A public guided tour through Thun’s old part of town and up
the Schlossberg (Castle Hill). Afterwards you’ll be able to enjoy
an aperitif in one of Thun’s nice restaurants.

of hiring an individual travel guide.
Please call us, we’re happy to help you.

Culinary Delights in Thun
This is a relaxed evening for groups. Accompanied by a Thun tour guide you’ll visit three traditional restaurants and a Vinothek where you’ll enjoy high quality food and drinks from local production and hear some interesting facts and stories about the town.

A guided pre-Christmas tour through Thun’s old part
of town. Hear stories and legends about Christmas - and
Advent customs.

Museum of Fine Arts Thun **
The Museum of Fine Arts is situated in the former Grandhotel Thunerhof. It shows Swiss and International creative art.
A special exhibition focuses on Present Time Art.
Swiss Museum of Gastronomy **
A guided tour through the history of gastronomy and the hotel trade as well as the culture of eating and drinking in general.
Scherzligen Church **
A Romanesque / Gothic church well worth visiting, with roots dating back to the year 761. Paintings from the time between the 13th and 16th century.
Vaporama **
A unique collection of stationary and mobile steam engines for the future Swiss Steam Engine Museum VAPORAMA.
Swiss Army Museum *
A collection of valuable, historical materiel of the Swiss Army.
Wocher-Panorama (G/F/E/I)
A guided tour through the oldest still existing panorama picture in the world.
This shows views of the city of Thun around 1814, painted by Marquard Wocher.
