Schwäbis River Bathing Area

The Schwäbis River Bathing Area was built in 1869/70 in the Swiss wood style typical of its time. It is regarded as an authentic and contemporary example of the Bernese Oberland bathing house and tourism architecture and is now a listed building.

The Bathing Area was renovated and modernised in 2006. The restaurant and the gastronomic kitchen were expanded, the dressing rooms and porch area were renovated and the bathing area was made wheelchair accessible.
The river bathing area is open from May to September and is home to a small but fine restaurant. You can find further information about the bathing operation here.

How to get there: Bus No. 1 (direction Steffisburg Flühli) from the SBB railway station SBB to the "Marktgasse" bus stop".
